Graduated with a BA Hons from Duncan of Jordanson College of Art and Design in 2020, currently studying an MFA. Cunningham's work focuses on the intersection between humanity and media, with a focus on portraiture. Painting in oils, Cunningham solidifies the digital in the physical, allowing an acknowledgement of our relationship with images. With his trans experience, Cunningham casts a unique light on the many ways we communicate, evaluate and assign meaning to ourselves and each other through images. Cunningham's work looks to depict the digital-physical tension without judgement, while still searching to tell human stories through his paintings.
